Starvox Entertainment is bringing the hit theatrical production Graeme of Thrones to Toronto this fall for its Canadian stage debut this Fall at the Panasonic Theatre.
It’s been given four stars and described as “Charming and Funny … Deftly, Daftly reimagined!” by The Times, “An absolute must-see for fans of the books and TV series,” from West End Wilma, and was said to be “A must for any Game of Thrones fan,” by Time Out.
With tickets having officially gone on sale today via mirvish.com, Torontonians will be able to vie for their own seat on the throne through the comedic parody that will be on stage at the Panasonic Theatre (651 Yonge St.) from Tuesday, October 11 through Sunday, October 23.
Direct from a four-star, sold-out run in London’s West End, this hilarious parody is coming to Canada in association with Alex Jarret for GSDHT LTD. The London production received the “Critics Choice” award from both the London Evening Standard and The Times, who called it “charming, funny” and “spot on”.
“We are excited to be bringing the critically-acclaimed Graeme of Thrones to Toronto. Fans of the show are not going to want to miss this incredibly entertaining live parody when it hits the stage this fall,” said Corey Ross, Starvox Entertainment president. “Funny from start to finish, the show incorporates all the best elements of the hit TV series and is a show that people will be talking about long after it is over.”
Avid ‘Thrones’ fan Graeme just wants to recreate his favourite fantasy saga on stage aided and abetted by his best friend Paul and the woman he used to like in school, Bryony. While he doesn’t quite have the same budget as the TV show, or as many of the cast members, or the performance skill required, he is sure George RR Martin would approve and that is what matters. When news reaches them that an influential theatrical producer is in the building, Graeme decides that this could be his big break — as long as nothing goes wrong.
Created by the UK’s top comedy writers, Graeme of Thrones is an original and unauthorized parody on the international phenomenon that is Game of Thrones. A treat for fans and an introduction for the unenlightened.
Tickets for Graeme of Thrones range from $39.95 to $99 and went on sale to the public this morning at 10 a.m. Tickets can be purchased through mirvish.com or by phone at 1-800-461-3333.
